Dr Kate Harrington is the Head of Strategic Digital Initiatives at the NSW Government Chief Information & Digital Office. In this role, Kate leads the development and delivery of programs through the Digital Restart Fund including digital capability uplift and the acceleration of Smart Places priorities. Prior to this Kate was the Assistant Commissioner, Performance and Analytics at the NSW Public Service Commission.

Kate has over 20 years of public sector experience, including: NSW Department of Industry, NSW Department of Planning, NSW Police; Housing NSW and at the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation.

In 2015, she established the NSW Data Analytics Centre and lead the development of the Data Sharing (Government Sector) Act. She has a passion for leading customer-focused service delivery and in 2011 received the NSW Premier's Award for Innovation. Her PhD focused on reform of the public sector through ICT.
